CLEANING CAMERA LENSES and FILTERS
Clean lenses and filters are an absolute priority for maximum clarity.
The ULTRA BRUSH with its very soft bristles is the tool to use to remove larger dust or dirt particles. Simply start in the middle of the lens and brush outwards. DUST-PRO, pure canned air, may also be used.
Minor smudges or fingerprints can be easily removed with the SOFT-TEK microfiber cloth. This can be used after the application of the ULTRA BRUSH or Dust-Pro. Start in the middle and use a circular motion working to the outside edges. The triangular shape of the fibers in this cloth and the extra thickness “squeegee” the smudges away, as opposed to other microfiber cloths using a round fiber that will only spread the problem.
More aggressive cleaning of the lens or filter can be done with PREMIUM GRADE LENS CLEANING TISSUE and either FORMULA MC or LENSBRITE fluid. Peca Products proudly manufactures these products in the USA.
PREMIUM GRADE LENS TISSUE is extremely soft and virtually lint-free. It is the best optical tissue, safe for any lens or filter and meets Federal Specification A-A-50177B which replaced NNN-P-40B.
Put a few drops of FORMULA MC or LENSBRITE on some sheets of wadded lens tissue and clean with a circular motion from the center to the outside. Before liquid is completely dry, use a few more sheets of lens tissue to remove all the liquid and the lens or filter is clean and polished.
LENSBRITE is an anti-fog lens cleaner for people who prefer to have anti-fog action on their lenses or filters. The invisible coating left on the surface after cleaning helps stop fog from forming.
FORMULA MC was developed by Peca Products Inc. back when manufacturers first introduced multi-coated lenses and filters and found that some cleaners can leave a smudge or residue, which may be difficult to remove.
Formula MC has been tested, approved and used by NASA on manned space shuttle flights.
